2017 November 3rd. Vice President Michele Lucherini and past President Michael Auer took part to the 17th international conference of European Lawyers’s Profession in the site of the European Commission in Berlin.
The issue was about the Independence of the Judicial System and the different situation were examined and discussed.
The discussion was focused on the situation in Poland and Turkey: colleagues (advocates and consultants) from Warsaw and Istanbul was called to take the floor and explained their situations.
The situation in Turkey is very critical and many colleagues are confined to prison.
In Poland, the situation is just known to us, with little progress and fear of new attacks on the independence of the judiciary and therefore the judicial function, including lawyers.
Particular welcome was reserved to colleagues from Korea.
