The packed agenda will begin with a retrospective reflection on how legal practice has changed over the last 40 years and what consequences this has for lawyer regulators. Over the following days the programme include keynote sessions on “What should we be regulating – individuals, firms or the market?”, “What can we learn from other sectors about regulation?”, “The challenges of AML compliance in the legal sector”, “Ethics in crisis?”, “How private equity is changing the legal sector” and “The growth of unregulated legal services and AI” amongst others. Discussion will be led by those who are responsible for tackling these issues in their own jurisdictions.

There will be nearly twenty additional breakout sessions and workshops to choose from, covering education and training and admission questions, through supervision and complaints, touching on diversity and wellbeing.

Previous attendees at ICLR conferences have described it as “The most worthwhile and enjoyable conference of its kind”. In addition to working sessions there are opportunities to network and share insights with those holding similar responsibilities in other countries – from Norway to South Africa and New Zealand to Canada. We are expecting over 140 participants from around 30 different jurisdictions and would welcome your participation.

The conference will also mark the launch of ICLR as a membership organisation, rather than an informal network and FBE members participating in the London conference will be offered a special introductory deal for membership.
