Dear Presidents of the FBE Bar members,

As the president of the European Bars Federation (FBE), I am pleased to invite you or yourappointed representative to join the FBE Equality and Diversity Commission in its works on thecurrent state of the gender equality at the FBE Bar members. The Commission is conducting asurvey and a report on the challenges and best practices regarding gender equality in the legalprofession across Europe. The results of this work will be presented at the FBE General Congress inMalaga to be held in June 2024.

The FBE Equality and Diversity Commission is composed of representatives from various Barassociations and law societies that are members of the FBE. The Commission aims to promote andprotect the principles of equality and diversity within the legal profession and the justice system.The Commission also seeks to foster dialogue and cooperation among the FBE Bar members onthese issues.

The work of the Commission on gender equality is of great importance and relevance for the FBEand its members. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also a key factor forthe quality and independence of the legal profession. The FBE is committed to advancing genderequality and inclusion in all its aspects.

I would like to extend the invitation to join the Commission and contribute to its work to all the FBEBar members.
